Week 6-MKMMA 2017/18: Habit Progress

Measuring Progress leads to success!

I can’t believe I only started my MasterKey Mastermind Alliance journey a mere two years ago.  If you would have told me when I first began this process all the amazing opportunities that would come into my life in 2015, I would have thought you were crazy.  I had a hard enough time just writing my DMP two years ago as I explain in my very first blog.

Dictionary.com defines habit as “an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary”.  As I allow my logical brain to read this, I see the analogy that habit is in essence almost an addiction per se.  Let me just disclose that I fully acknowledge that the medical community at large may not have appreciation for that analogy.

Pondering this analogy, my brain sees habits or addictions as ones that can be either helpful or harmful and some may go either way if not properly balanced.  For example, most people think of addictions as having negative impact as tends to happen with those who are addicted to drugs or alcohol.  Other addictions that may lead to more positive outcomes may be business or work success, healthy eating, and exercise.  That being said, these too can be taken to the extreme.  For example, the person who works so much that he or she no longer spends time with a spouse or children.  Healthy eating and exercise, could also go to the extreme were one goes from healthy to hurtful with a disorder.

How then, do we make sure that we maintain balance with the habits that are required to excel in everyday life especially for an entrepreneur like myself?  I don’t believe there is a precise right or wrong answer to this question.  What I can tell you helps me and everyone who I like to surround myself with or look up to is to schedule your day, week, month, and year.  What?!?!?!  How could I possibly do that?  In our MasterKey Experience, the recommendation is to work on scheduling for the entire week either Saturday or Sunday.  I like to do that, and I start each morning organizing the individual day as well as sometimes life throws us curve balls.  I also schedule out the major events of the month and year that fit into my DMP whether for spiritual time, myself and my son’s family life, and/or business.  I leave this flexibly planned with certain must accomplish slots and other slots that if the curve ball comes are not mandatory.

Some people need a very regimented schedule and that is how he or she thrives.  That is awesome.  When thrown a curve ball, this person executes and just sees it as a part of life.  For myself, I keep the flexible slots like a pediatrician leaving a few appointments in the week for newborn baby check-ups.  This way, when that unexpected ball comes my way, I don’t need to think twice about how to handle it.  Benjamin Franklin said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”  I AM NOT A FAILURE.  Could I be even more scheduled and organized?  Absolutely!  Have I seen this area improve?  Yes.  I allow it to continuely progress at as steady pace.  I find as a mother, if I keep the rigid scheduling that I had pre-child, I get more frustrated with myself.  I would rather feel accomplished over frustrated.

This progression allowed me to book a trip two weeks ago to the http://www.synergyglobalforum.com in New York City.  When I called about this amazing event with Sir Richard Branson, Simon Sinek, Gary Vee and more, we had a great conversation.  I told them the only thing that Richard Branson has on me is more time in business, and he is not a single mom.  We both chuckled, and they made me an ambassador for the event and company.  What does this mean?  Any event that they host that you’d like to attend, I can provide you with a discount if you purchase directly from me.  How can you accomplish this?  Reach out to me via text at 312.671.0272 or call and I will get back to you.  E-mail also works.  I do respond to e-mail less quickly as I get paid to be on the phone or in person for my business endeavors.  My e-mail is cathyhallihan@gmail.com.

The other great part of the conversations was them telling me, “you are speaking on our stage next year!”  I responded, “I am speaking on your stage next year!”  Many people would question if one year fits into a S.M.A.R.T. goal meaning Specific (yes), Measurable (yes), Achievable (100% yes to me.  Ignore the negative nellies my friends!), Achievable (Absolutely to me.  Those who don’t support you don’t belong in your circle.) Timely (Yes.  I, also, know that if I make a huge progression and it takes me two or three years.  Who cares?  I would rather set the bar at one year and work hard than 3 years and slack off.  Other people, need the 3 years with the rigid plan.  This is different for how to maximize your effectiveness with the brains response to a stimuli otherwise known as motivation.)

With my network marketing, I am super excited that my life essential service business has launched electricity in my home state of Illinois.  I have started further growth with my local team.  I also launched a business where I help people turn his or her mobile phone into an ATM machine.  I do this by teaching him or her to learn to earn like the banks do through the foreign exchange.

I have expanded my writing, and I am also putting together more options to help others virtually thorough the use of technology.  I am growing to love technology more an more.  After all, it helps me stay connected to you!

I promise to live my definite major purpose everyday which provides for my personal pivotal needs of liberty and true health.

I always keep my promises.
